Chiropractic -

Chiropractic is based upon the understanding that good health depends in part upon a normally functioning nervous system, especially the spine, and the nerves extending from the spine to all parts of the body. Chiropractic stresses the idea that the cause of many disease processes begins with the body’s inability to accurately perceive and adapt to its environment. It looks to address this not by controlling symptom effects but by removing interference. This allows the body to run its normal processes, healing itself.

Your first Visit – We start with a consultation about your health history and your reasons for coming for care, focusing on answering all of your questions. We proceed with a spinal examination to determine the specific areas of nerve interference in your spine. We utilize a state of the art thermography and surface EMG to assess nerve interference patterns. This is a painless and non-invasive technology that is completely safe, even for pregnant women. We start care with gentle chiropractic adjustments and often incorporate massage therapy, ergonomic education, nutritional counseling, home stretching routines and back strengthening exercises.

Massage Therapy -

We specialize in medical/therapeutic massage for injury recovery and healing of chronic pain issues. Sessions last from 30-55 minutes, depending upon the nature of your condition. Manual therapy techniques such as Swedish massage, trigger point release, lymphatic drainage, cross-fiber friction, and craniosacral therapy are all part of a typical massage appointment.

Swedish massage is designed to relax muscles, increase oxygen flow and local circulation through the compression of muscle on deeper muscles.

-Pregnancy massage can be of great benefit by decreasing aches and pains caused by natural changes, addressing specific concerns such as headaches and low back pain, and increasing relaxation, leading to a smoother, less painful delivery. Postpartum massage is also offered following delivery, until all medical conditions related to treatment are resolved.

-Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle form of bodywork, able to be performed with the patient fully clothed, that works to remove restrictions or interferences with the normal flow of cerebrospinal fluid. Many people find this method to be extremely relaxing and have reported improvements in sleep, sinusitis, chronic ear infections, migraines, digestion, and emotional issues.

Naturopathic Medicine -

Naturopathic medicine is a system of health care – an art, science, philosophy, and practice of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of illness. Dr. Baker works side-by-side with her patients to find the most suitable treatment options, ranging from diet and lifestyle changes, botanical medicine, homeopathy, physical medicine, and counseling, to prescription medications and necessary referrals to specialists, in order to provide them with the best possible care.
